Abstract

This paper (1936) includes a very important section about the early pioneers without whom the basic foundations for imaging and radiotherapy would not have been possible. Cuthbert Andrew's paper considers whether or not science is a failure and F. Soddy replies in a later paper. We also include a very useful paper about deep-therapy, and an excerpt of a paper from ‘Nature’ about radiation and cancer. Details are included about the Society's examinations. Early imaging techniques are also described and these have formed the basis of some of the techniques used today (2009).
